This Diving Medicine Course is designed to give the Doctor an insight into the world of Diving Medicine. This will allow the successful candidate to apply to the Health and Safety Executive of Diving to act as a diving medical examiner.
Course Content:
The course is taught over a five day period, during this time the candidates will gain an understanding of the following subjects:

* Cause of Diving Accidents
* Management of Diving Medical Emergencies Decompression Illness Pathophysiology

* Therapeutic Recompression Tables
* Basic Insight into Recompression Chambers
* Practical Recompression Chamber Exposure
* Fitness to Dive - Recreational
* Fitness to Dive – Commercial
* Case Studies
* Return to Diving
* Medical Conditions Relating to Diving
* Legislation and Regulatory Bodies
* HSE Procedures
Eligibility:
This course is aimed at Doctors who are considering becoming a HSE Diving Medical Examiner. They must have achieved an F2 grade and above to apply.
