Prehospital Trauma Life Support Course (PHTLS)

Description:
The course is aimed at providers who work in the pre-hospital environment. Eligibility

* IHCD qualified ambulance technician
* HPC registered paramedics
* Registered nurse involved in immediate care
* Fully registered medical practitioner ie SHO and above
* Currently serving military medical personnel
* Emergency services personnel (Fire, Police, Coastguard, Intermediate Tier Ambulance Staff) where as part of their day to day duties they are required to provide advanced emergency care
* Health care practitioner with evidence of prehospital involvement from either an ambulance service or a hospital


One of the few pre-hospital trauma courses that actually has accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons, London.

This three day course is recognised in 37 countries worldwide and is a tried and tested method for pre-hospital training.

Candidates demonstrating a high level of proficiency throughout the course may be invited as an observer on the rapid response vehicle.

The 3rd day cements all skills learned together in a number of practical senarios to allow for realistic training in the management of casualties that are trapped and injured.

*Theoretical Exam.
*Multi casualty / multi vehicle motorway incident.
